How to mail or distribute your promotional flyers

Flyers can be distributed in a number of ways, including addressed mail, unaddressed mail or letterbox drops.

How to mail flyers

The first step is to decide which mailing method most suits your marketing compaign. Basically there are two options when deciding how to mail flyers; addressed or un-addressed mail.

In a geographically-targeted flyer campaign, un-addressed mail may be the easiest option. The flyers can be delivered along with the regular mail by your local Australia Post. You can opt to deliver to post office boxes, physical addresses or both. Flyer sizes DL 99x210mm or A6 150x100mm aresuitable for this distribution method. Both are cheap to produce, easy to handle, and the smaller size means your flyers won't need to be folded to fit in the mail slots.

If your flyer mailout is targeted to people within a particular group using a marketing list; for example by industry, position or interest group; your distribution method will be addressed mail.  Consider having these flyers printed as a postcard, so they can be sent loose in the mail. You can hand-address them for a personal touch, and your marketing message won't be covered by an envelope. Again, DL or A6 sizes are great for addressed mail as they can be posted for the cost of a regular stamp.

Letterbox drops

Small-scale flyer distribution can be carried out by walkers. You can use a specialised flyer deliver service, do it yourself or get your friends and family involved.
